Who am I?

Every year KLANGLICHT transfigures Graz into a world of art, light and sound, captivating thousands of people. In 2022 our department was part of the internationally renowned ensemble who transform public spaces, squares and buildings into light and art installations. With sound designers we created ambiances telling individual stories under the title Growth.


We interpreted Growth in our concept as the development process of an artificial intelligence (AI). The story of the emergence, growth and decay of the AI is transferred by light and sound. The AI, like humans, is searching for the meaning of its existence, which is why it asks itself the difficult questions of life in the course of its development process. "What am I?" followed by "Who am I?", the complexity of the questions ultimately leads the AI in its search for meaning to a system crash.
